School has broken me...

Oof. I've spent all day today scrambling to get my English and Government classes done. And those are both subjects I like but today was like torture, mostly 'cause I had a reasearch report for English that I hadn't started, so I basicall had to whip out a six-page paper, drafting, editing and all, in about three hours. No biggie on that front though; I'm good at reports and even when I have to just pull them out of my butt I get at least a B.

Well, my work has paid off, tomorrow I get to go out to the mall and Christmas shop. Yay! (How sad is my life when going out to the tiny local shopping mall is the biggest adventure I have?)

More importantly, now that I'm caught up on my school, I have to get back into writing dammit! I haven't finished a story since March...I started one early October, but it's kinda falling apart. I'll try to keep plugging away at it out of principle, but I don't know. Oh well, in just over a month I have X-mas break...maybe my creativity will flow a little easier with no school.

And that's all for my INCREDIBLY exciting post tonight. Later.

If you could only listen to one CD for the rest of your life, what would you choose and why?

Oh damn that's hard, I have so many CDs. Grrgh...if I had to choose probably the Inglourious Basterds soundtrack. It's got Ennio Morricone and David Bowie and really, that's all I need.:)

Where have I been?

Holy crap, it's been over two months since I've posted. I promised myself when I got this account I was actually going to use it, dammit! But I've been freakishly busy with school (been taking college classes alongside my high school ones so that eats up a lot of time) and almost forgot I even had an account. Doesn't matter, though...probably no one's reading my tripe anyway! Not to mention the fact that I've had some of the worst writer's block I've ever had in my life. Boo.

Oh well, even if I can't find anything to post I've got to at least start logging in every day, just to keep up with stuff.

And thus ends the boring, pointless little post. Sorry for wasting your time, there.

Writer's Block: Three-day weekend

Do you prefer to spend a three-day weekend chilling at home or hitting the road?

Hitting the road, definitely. I go for 3-day weekends in Laughlin Nevada all the time since it's only a few hours from me -- it's the best time a person can ever have.

(Goddamn it's been a long time since I posted, I gotta get back in the swing of things!)

ALICE IN WONDERLAND TRAILER!!!!!!

The trailer for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland has arrived. I actually saw it already a couple of days ago when it leaked out early, but this is its official release. Check it out! (I hope it plays, I've never had to embed before)

So, my thoughts:

--It's not quite as scary-looking as I thought it would be -- I was expecting more Nightmare Before Christmas and less Charlie and the Chocolate Factory -- but it still looks pretty awesome.

--Johnny Depp looks utterly awesome as the Mad Hatter. A lot of Alice enthusiasts are worried that it looks like the Mad Hatter is going to get an awful lot of screentime because it's Johnny Depp, which doesn't really gel with the story. And as much as I love Johnny, I have to agree that's probably not the best thing. But I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt; maybe they're just focusing on him a lot in the trailer because they know what a huge draw Depp is.

--The Red Queen is the creepiest thing I've seen in a long time (probably that whole half-real, half-CGI thing).

--Cheshire Cat looks totally cool, I'm just disappointed we didn't get to hear him speak in Stephen Fry's voice yet.

--I did not see one single solitary trace of Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar in that trailer, which is what I was really looking forward to! Oh well, next trailer maybe.

Overall I'm squealingly excited. Can't wait for March!

EDIT: Hooray, it does play! I can add another skill to my list now!:D

Writer's Block: Pick and Stick

If you could only eat one kind of cuisine—Mexican, Thai, French, Italian, Indian, Chinese, etc.—for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

Hmm - I'll have to say Italian. I was thinking of going with Chinese because it's got a lot of variety, but if I had to live life without my pizza and spaghetti I'd die!

Well, it's come to this.  After months of being tempted I finally signed up for Live Journal. Truth be told I have no idea what the heck I'm doing, or what I'm going to fill this journal up with, so you'll all have to bear with me...expect me to spend a long, sleepless night exploring this mystical new place. I don't have much experience on these social networking places so I'm a little bit nervous, but I intend to come out of my shell a bit and have some fun here.

I have nothing better to do so I might as well give a brief introduction. So, hello all. The essentials to know about me are:

1: As you may have guessed from my theme, I love all things dark, gloomy and twisted. I'm really not that frightening all the time though, so don't let it scare you off.

2: I'm a writer, mostly of horror and literary, with the occasional poem tossed in for good measure. If you're very naughty I might make you read some of it.

3: I'm obsessed with all things by Tim Burton, and if you are too then you are automatically cool in my book.

That's all I can think of for now, and seeing as how it's getting late and my intelligence is rapidly decreasing I think I should sign off. I promise to try and be more interesting next time. Ciao!
